CCLIX: Why Can I See a Record but Not Edit It?
Answer
If a record is visible but cannot be edited, it is usually because the record has already been written.
Written records are treated as finalized and are protected to preserve record integrity. Certain changes may no longer be available through standard editing options.
In contrast, saved records remain editable until they are written.
Visibility alone does not indicate whether a record can still be modified. The ability to edit depends on the record’s current state within the system.
